One important condition was that private investors must invest an equally large amount in the company. The fund has invested a total amount of 11 Million Euro. The investments were provided in exchange for shares in the start-up company. This initiative resulted in the creation of 46 new life science start-ups in the period 2000-2005. Since then the ongoing participations are managed and sold. The Fund is being managed by the Zernike Group.
