Dedicated life sciences company
Dedicated life sciences companies have life sciences as their core activity and spend a large part of their R&D budget on them. These companies might be Dutch subsidiaries (R&D, production or distribution centre) from foreign dedicated life sciences companies. All firms are located in the Netherlands and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. Dedicated life sciences companies can be university spin-offs, corporate spin-offs or independently established companies.
Diversified life sciences company
Diversified life sciences companies are companies that are actively involved in R&D, production and/or marketing of life sciences products, but their core business is not (solely) in life sciences.
Research, educational and governmental institute
Research, educational and governmental institutes listed are research institutes, universities (medical centres), colleges, hospitals or governmental institutes involved with life sciences R&D.
Investor
Investors listed are venture capitalists, informal or other investors with a focus on supporting life sciences ventures through funding.
Supply Company
Suppliers of bio-instrumentation, lab equipment or lab consumables are examples of supply companies
Service Company
Service companies within the life sciences business chain are companies providing support such as contract research, consultancy (business development, finance, fiscal or legal, intellectual property, subsidies) or human resources or incubators/scienceparks.
