Company profile

The Technopolis Group is an international research and consulting organisation, focusing on science, technology and innovation policy. We specialise in:

  • Evaluations of government science and technology policies and programmes;
  • Comparative analyses of innovation systems, policies and strategies across countries and organisations;
  •  Strategic advice to policymakers and help with planning and forecasting;
  •  Implementation and management of R&D and innovation programmes.

The Technopolis Group was established in 1989. We work for regional and national government bodies, international organisations, as well as private companies. The group has offices in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Brighton (United Kingdom), Paris (France), Brussels (Belgium), Stockholm (Sweden) and Vienna (Austria), Turkey (Ankara). The group has 70 employees.

The Technopolis Group has a large body of R&D and innovation policy evaluation and study experience, in a variety of fields in the academic, business and governmental sectors (research for policy and regulation). The unifying idea behind the Technopolis Group is to support public policy in relation to the funding, generation and use of knowledge in the areas of innovation, technology, research and e-commerce.

Recently the topsector plan Life Sciences & Health was published and presented to Minister Verhagen, of the so-called ELI Ministry. The document is an amazing compressed 60-pager, based on months of hard work by the group of experts chaired by Roel Fonville, and summarizes the conclusions after dozens of 1-to-1 meetings, five regional group sessions with dozens of opinion leaders and after having received over 170 (!) memo's, white papers and letters of intent.
