Company profile
LIGHTHOUSE is a ten year old company that has won numerous awards (2000 FDA small business innovation research award, 2004 Parenteral Drug Association New Innovative Technology Award) for its laser-based trace gas detection Systems. Leveraging a strong science-based approach, LIGHTHOUSE also provides analytical services to the biotech and biopharmaceutical industry and has contributed to numerous industry conferences and publications.
Science and Technologies
LIGHTHOUSE develops, manufactures and markets a range of benchtop and automated In-line machines for Pharmaceutical container headspace analysis (syringes, ampoules, vials, bottles). LIGHTHOUSE platforms are used in the development, quality control, production and inspection of sterile injectable products. Specifically, the Systems can be used for assessing container closure integrity and monitoring oxygen in the headspace of parenteral containers. The Systems utilize a proprietary laser absorption measurement method that allows Operators to rapidly and non-destructively monitor headspace vacuum, moisture, and oxygen levels. The product line was developed with funding from the Food and Drug Administration starting in 2000 in an effort to advance the science of quality monitoring of sterile injection products. Currently LIGHTHOUSE has the largest global installed base of laser headspace inspection Systems at over 70 locations worldwide. Systems are fully validated and registered with regulatory agencies (including FDA, EMEA, Japan, Canada).
Alliances
In The Netherlands LIGHTHOUSE is currently working with Schering-Plough (Organon) and Sanquin.
