Company Profile

AMCAS is a world wide expert in exploiting an unique model with a human immune system in the fields of infectious diseases, auto-immune diseases and cancer. AMCAS offers this expertise to academic institutes and (bio)pharmaceutical industries.
AMCAS is located on the premises of the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. AMCAS was initiated as a spin out company of this highly experienced scientific research center in the field of immunology and infectious diseases.
AMCAS provides fee-for-service pre-clinical studies using an unique model supporting the development of both the human innate and adaptive immune systems. The model can be manipulated to answer questions linked to developmental biology or treatment purposes (therapeutics and vaccines).

Science and Technologies or Services

AMCAS exploits a HIS(BALB-C-Rag2-/-cy-/-) model (ref: J. Immunology 2006, 176: 2053-2058). This model shows a multi-lineage reconstitution in bone marrow and thymus with peripheral colonisation and development of functional human T-cells in situ.
AMCAS uses high standard facilities and employs or hires personnel with longstanding experience in operating standardised experiments.

Alliances

AMCAS is looking for fee-for-service projects upon assignment by customers having products in pre-clinical development in the field of biologics, vaccines and therapeutics having an anticipated (desired or side) effect on the immune system. Our HIS model can give the customer more detailed information on the anticipated effects of their development compounds on the human immune system in a validated best in class in vivo model.
