Van der Hoeven continues to support innovation in food

The programme Food & Nutrition Delta (FND) is being continued until 2014.

This cooperation of companies and research institutes to translate knowledge into products in the area of food, receives 60 million euro from Minister Van der Hoeven of Economic Affairs. According to the minister, the food industry is of great importance to the Dutch economy.

In the coming period, FND wants to stimulate more companies to innovate. The goal is on the one hand to strengthen the international competitive position of the sector, and on the other hand to reduce heart- and vascular disease and diabetes II that result from a bad diet.

FND is being carried out by NL Innovatie, part of Agentschap NL of the Ministery of Economic Affairs.
