European headquarters Fonterra to Amsterdam

The New Zeeland dairy company Fonterra is moving its European headquarters from Hamburg (Germany) to Amsterdam.

The company chose Amsterdam because of favourable tax and policy conditions and relatively low labor cost and rents. In September the world's biggest dairy exporter will settle at the Zuidas. Fonterra will hire 50 employees.

The company also announces the establishing of a European research center and is looking for cooperation with Wageningen UR.
