Eberhard van der Laan mayor of Amsterdam
Amsterdam City Council have selected former Integration Minister Eberhard van der Laan as the final candidate for the position of mayor of Amsterdam.
This is the result of a closed council meeting on the evening of 23 June 2010 at City Hall. The appointment is not final, as the outgoing cabinet will first have to discuss the nomination. The aim is to appoint the mayor before the start of summer holiday season.
