Center for children's oncology in Amsterdam
The national children's oncology center (KNOC), the start of which was announced earlier this year, will be established on the terrain of the Netherlands Cancer Institute-Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital (NKI-AvL) in Amsterdam.
The new clinic is expected to open its doors in 2013. Doctors and parents of young cancer patients joined forces to create one treatment facility for children with cancer. At this moment, the care for this group is fragmented. They think it is better for the research and the treatment if the different centers combine their work.
