Agendia disappointed in Dutch innovation policy

Agendia in Amsterdam, developer of Mammaprint, is focussing its attention more and more on the United States in stead of the Netherlands.

The company says that in the US there is more acknowledgment for its diagnostic method. According to Het Financieele Dagblad, director René Bernards is heavily dissapointed in the innovation policy in the Netherlands. The Dutch organisation of helath insurance companies (CVZ) does not recognize the Mammaprint test because it doesn't fit the existing practise.

Health insurance companies in the US already cover the test. At this moment, Agendia has 45 employees in the Netherlands and 40 in the US. Bernards is considering moving the whole company overseas.
