AMT to be Acquired by uniQure
February 17, 2012 – The board of directors of Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics (AMT) is recommending a substantial corporate restructuring and financing transaction which, if approved by shareholders, will result in the assets and certain liabilities being acquired by a newly formed private company, uniQure BV, and the AMT legal entity being liquidated and delisted.
NWO plans to invest over €225M in topsectors
February 16, 2012 - Also for the Topsector Life Sciences & Health (proposed investment €54M) the money would largely go to public-private partnerships. Herewith NWO contributes substantially to the means necessary to make the topsector policy a success.

February 10, 2012 - Prof. Louise Gunning-Schepers has been appointed president of the Executive Board of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) by the Supervisory Boards of the two institutions. The appointment is effective as of 1 April 2012.
Support Dutch representation at BIO

Recently the topsector plan Life Sciences & Health was published and presented to Minister Verhagen, of the so-called ELI Ministry. The document is an amazing compressed 60-pager, based on months of hard work by the group of experts chaired by Roel Fonville, and summarizes the conclusions after dozens of 1-to-1 meetings, five regional group sessions with dozens of opinion leaders and after having received over 170 (!) memo's, white papers and letters of intent.
