Support Dutch representation at BIO

February 9, 2012 - In June, the Bio International Convention will take place in Boston MA. As it seems now, there will be no Dutch representation at the BIO, i.e., there will be no Holland Pavilion.

Do you agree this is a loss for the Dutch life sciences & health sector, then support us by email:

As an entrepreneur in the Dutch life sciences & health sector my company has a direct interest in Dutch representation by means of a Holland Pavilion at the BIO International in Boston, MA June 18-21 2012.

This conference offers a valuable partnering program which is worth my investment of 5000 euro for conference expenses (registration, flight and hotel).

  • The presence of a Dutch Pavilion at this event supports my company and me for a number of reasons:
  • I can extend my international network and meet companies I could not get an appointment with through the partnering system.
  • I will meet other Dutch entrepreneurs; this is a solid investment in my personal network and in the Dutch biotech network of entrepreneurs  in life sciences.
  • The whole life sciences & health sector profits from a strong and professional Dutch representation: consistent marketing and promotion of our sector through one voice, one message results in a recognizable and attractive image of the Netherlands.

For these reasons, I ask the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation to co-invest in the professional representation of the Netherlands at the largest biotech conference in the world and make a Holland Pavilion possible.

Recently the topsector plan Life Sciences & Health was published and presented to Minister Verhagen, of the so-called ELI Ministry. The document is an amazing compressed 60-pager, based on months of hard work by the group of experts chaired by Roel Fonville, and summarizes the conclusions after dozens of 1-to-1 meetings, five regional group sessions with dozens of opinion leaders and after having received over 170 (!) memo's, white papers and letters of intent.
