3-tesla-MRI

MRI research on the AMC has a strong multi-disciplinary character and focuses on different areas of the Life Sciences sector. The AMC, UvA and VU collaborate in research on addiction, schizophrenia, visual perception and movement disorders (e.g. Parkinsons disease). The AMC also develops new technologies on diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and fiber tracking for neurology. Besides MRI research, the 3-Tesla MRI scanner plays an important role in the Virtual Laboratory for Enhanced Science (VL-E) for the development of next-generation Grid infrastructure with digital image processing using high performance computing (HPC).
