Epigenetic Code Reader
Dr Astrid Visser received a Horizon Breakthrough Grant from the
Netherlands Genomics Initiative to return from the US to the
Netherlands and create the proof-of-principle for the ECR. Her highly
regarded, long-time colleague Prof Roel van Driel offered the hosting
facilities at the Swammerdam Institute of Life Sciences (SILS),
University of Amsterdam, to develop the technology. Industrial and
scientific partners were identified and collaborations have been set
up. A patent application has been submitted. With additional funding,
the ECR will be taken to the next level. A commercial prototype can be
expected in three years.
