NKI II

In our efforts to find novel immunotherapy-based strategies as treatment for cancer patients, we have developed a vaccination method that uses naked DNA encoding of a tumour antigen. By injecting the DNA into recipients, DNA is absorbed by the tissue and the tumour antigen is produced, resulting in an immune response against this tumour antigen. The raised immune response can then be directed against the cancer cells that share the tumour antigen with the vaccine. In order to perform flexible and independent clinical trials at the lowest possible costs, this GMP DNA production unit was realized.
