The Amsterdam cohort study on HIV and AIDS

The Amsterdam cohort study (ACS) on HIV infection and AIDS was started in 1984, followed shortly by the ACS among drug users in 1985. Since the beginning of the ACS on HIV/AIDS in 1984, many data sets have been collected. The citation index includes prominent research leaders from the retrovirology department of the AMC.

The ACS is a collaboration of the Municipal Health Service, the Department of Human Retrovirology, the International Antiviral Therapy Evaluation Center at the AMC and the Department of Clinical Viro-immunology, as well as the Department of Infectious Diseases and Laboratory for Experimental and Clinical Immunology.
