Activities & Opportunities
Up one levelKnow how, know who! During every step, from discovery to start-up and growth, the Amsterdam BioMed Cluster is there to offer entrepreneurs with an interest in life sciences information and support.
- Knowledge Pool
- It takes the creation of knowledge, as well as the recognition, collection, integration and implementation of new knowledge to make a successful company. In this light, partners in the Amsterdam BioMed Cluster should benefit from a clear overview, assessment and accessibility of the technology and know how available in the region.
- Expertise & coaching
- Together the organisations in the Cluster form an expert team, fully competent to advise on knowledge- and business initiatives.
- BioBusiness Summer School
- The BioBusiness PhD summer school offers a two-week programme introducing PhD students and post-docs to the international field of biomedical business. Lectures by experts in the field and site visits to a range of companies are scheduled, next to a social programme.
- Networking, Partnering, Matchmaking
- The Amsterdam BioMed Cluster organises and participates in various activities that explore and exploit bio business and research opportunities.
- Technology transfer, Licensing opportunities & Intellectual Property
- The Amsterdam BioMed Cluster provides access to patent expertise, patent support and related financing through its newly-created Life Sciences Center Amsterdam.
- Facilities & Accommodation
- The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area offers a number of locations with office and laboratory space specifically aimed at life sciences activities. In addition, every knowledge institution has its own portfolio of facilities that can accelerate research and business. Companies in the region may also offer a wide range of services that support life sciences development.
- International partner promotion
- We will showcase the Cluster's strengths and assets whenever and wherever we can. Via the Cluster website, but also via presentations at (inter)national meetings. By joining the Cluster your organisation too will be in the spotlights.
- Financing resources
- Life sciences companies require substantial amounts of funding. Access to seed capital, early and mid-stage capital is critical to their survival and success. Entrepreneurs based in the Amsterdam area have access to a number of funding options, ranging from venture capital to subsidies and the public market.
